AIA Insurance recently hosted the AIA Sales Convention 2024 at Shangri-La Colombo, under the inspiring theme ‘WINGS UP – to fly beyond Everest’. The event celebrated the outstanding achievements of AIA’s top wealth planners in a setting filled with motivation and prestige.
AIA CEO Chathuri Munaweera, Chief Agency Officer Chanaka Liyanage, the executive committee, and senior management attended the convention, which brought together elite achievers from across Sri Lanka.
A highlight of this year’s convention was the industry’s first augmented reality (AR) press advertisement in the Sunday Lankadeepa newspaper. This innovative AR experience featured personalized messages from the top six winners, adding a unique and engaging element to the recognition.
Among the honorees, Sanjeewani Somarathna from Kandy ADO was named Best Wealth Planner for the fourth consecutive year. K. Piran (Kilinochchi) and Yashoda Rupasinghe (Gampaha) were recognized as the First and Second Runners-Up, respectively.
Thuraj Aponso from Colombo Region Five won the Best Wealth Planners’ Manager award. Upul Indika Samaranayaka (Monaragala branch) and S.N. Athukorala (Tissamaharama ADO) were awarded First Runner-Up and Second Runner-Up, respectively.
Krishan Dassanayake from Panadura City ADO was named the Best Cluster Wealth Planners’ Manager, with Thakshila Koralage (Moratuwa ADO) and Chandana Priyantha (Horana Region One) as First and Second Runners-Up.
Priyantha Dias from Moratuwa ADO received the Best Three Tier Manager award, with Sirimal Pieris (Colombo Main One) and Ransilu Perera (Moratuwa ADO) as First and Second Runners-Up.
Vinol Priyasenarath from Moratuwa ADO won the Best Area Development Manager award. Dileepa Ameendra (Tissamaharama and Matara ADO) and Y.G.G.B. Yatigammana (Mawanella ADO) were First and Second Runners-Up, respectively.
Eresh Silva was named the Best Distribution Unit Head from Negombo Region One. Supun Akalanka (Colombo Region Five) and Tharindu Weerakoon (Wennappuwa) received the First and Second Runner-Up awards in this category.
