CEAT Kelani Holdings continues its commitment to road safety for school children, marking the 15th year of its road safety programme by extending support to ten more schools in the first quarter of 2024. Each school received a comprehensive road safety kit including signboards, traffic cones, traffic warden jackets, and awareness booklets, totaling 3,270 items distributed among the beneficiaries. The initiative, named ‘Maga Yana Maga,’ falls under CEAT Kelani’s ‘CEAT Cares’ programme, emphasizing the company’s dedication to fostering safer commuting conditions, particularly for students.
Under ‘Maga Yana Maga,’ CEAT Kelani aims to enhance road safety awareness in schools located near main roads or high congestion areas. The programme underscores CEAT’s commitment to road safety, aligning with its product philosophy of prioritizing safety features in all its offerings. Over the years, the initiative has expanded its reach, benefiting 290 schools across Sri Lanka. Originally launched in 2010 with direct engagement through workshops, the programme has evolved to focus on equipment donations, adapting to the challenges posed by the global pandemic.
CEAT Kelani’s road safety initiative addresses the pressing issue of road accidents, aiming to mitigate fatalities and injuries caused by negligence and non-compliance with traffic regulations. By providing essential road safety equipment and awareness materials, the company strives to instill a culture of responsible commuting among students, parents, and transport providers.
