Education Minister Dr. Susil Premajayantha announced that the Chinese government has agreed to supply school uniforms free of charge for Sri Lankan students next year. This initiative is expected to save the Sri Lankan government Rs. 6 billion.
Dr. Premajayantha made this announcement during the national event for distributing school textbooks in Homagama, Pitipana. He mentioned that the Chinese government will provide the uniforms once the Sri Lankan authorities submit the necessary details regarding the requirements.
