In a significant step toward empowering Sri Lankan exporters, the Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) has entered into a strategic partnership with the National Chamber of Exporters of Sri Lanka (NCE) to enhance capital market access and visibility for businesses in the export sector.
The agreement, signed by CSE CEO-Designate Vindhya Jayasekera and NCE Secretary General/CEO Shiham Marikar, marks a collaborative effort to strengthen the growth prospects of both established and emerging exporters. The signing was witnessed by key representatives from both organizations, including NCE Assistant Director Dilini Gamlathge and senior executives from the CSE’s Commercial and Compliance teams.
Through this partnership, NCE members will gain access to essential knowledge and services from the capital markets to support their business expansion plans. Notably, the initiative encourages Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) to explore listing opportunities on the CSE, particularly via the Empower Board—a platform specifically designed to facilitate capital raising for SMEs.
The collaboration will also enable direct engagement between the CSE and Sri Lanka’s exporter community, fostering a stronger understanding of capital market instruments, good governance, and financial transparency. Additionally, the initiative will include a series of joint forums, educational sessions, and networking events to help exporters navigate alternative funding strategies and sustainable growth opportunities.
This partnership underscores the mutual commitment of the CSE and NCE to driving long-term development within Sri Lanka’s export sector, reinforcing confidence among stakeholders and positioning local businesses for greater competitiveness on the global stage.
