In a move to unlock new financial opportunities for Sri Lankan exporters, the Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) and the National Chamber of Exporters of Sri Lanka (NCE) have announced a strategic partnership designed to empower businesses through enhanced access to capital markets and increased business visibility.
The official signing of the agreement took place between CSE CEO-Designate Vindhya Jayasekera and NCE Secretary General/CEO Shiham Marikar. Key representatives from both organizations—including NCE Assistant Director of Member Services/Operations Dilini Gamlathge, CSE SVP – Commercial Punyamali Saparamadu, and SVP – Legal, Enforcement and Compliance Shivandini Liyanage—were present to witness the milestone event.
This partnership aims to provide NCE member companies—ranging from seasoned exporters to newcomers—with essential knowledge and tools to harness capital markets for business growth. A special focus is being placed on Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs), which can now explore potential listings through the CSE’s Empower Board, a platform specifically created to help SMEs raise capital efficiently.
The collaboration also paves the way for joint initiatives such as forums, knowledge-sharing workshops, and networking events. These programs will serve to educate exporters on alternative financing methods and reinforce the value of good governance and transparency through public listing.
By forging this alliance, both CSE and NCE underscore their shared commitment to fostering sustainable growth, credibility, and innovation within Sri Lanka’s export-driven economy.
