Global specialty tire leader GRI took a significant step towards environmental responsibility by unveiling its next-generation “green” tires at the Green Impact 2024 event in Sri Lanka. These tires boast an impressive sustainable material content, reaching a remarkable 87.3% in the Green XLR Earth series (agriculture) and a groundbreaking 93.5% in the Ultimate Green XT (material handling).
This innovation embodies GRI’s commitment to minimizing environmental impact while maintaining high performance. Through advanced technology and natural rubber compounds, they aim to lead the way in sustainability throughout their entire value chain.
The launch at Green Impact 2024, a three-day global event for industry professionals and media, marked a significant milestone in GRI’s sustainability journey. This reaffirms their dedication to both environmental stewardship and pioneering advancements in specialty tire technology.
Bureau Veritas, a renowned certification body, validated GRI’s green efforts by verifying the carbon footprint reduction of these tires. GRI CEO Dr. Mahesha Ranasoma emphasized this commitment, stating, “This certification underscores GRI’s unwavering dedication to sustainability in tires and quality of product.”
GRI Managing Director Prabhash Subasinghe further highlighted the significance of these tires: “They are more than just products; they are symbols of our unwavering dedication to sustainability.” He emphasized that these tires represent hope for a greener future, with meticulous attention paid to minimizing environmental impact throughout their lifecycle, without compromising performance.
