Inauguration of Sri Lanka’s Interests Advisory Council in London

Under the patronage of High Commissioner Rohitha Bogollagama, the Sri Lanka High Commission in London launched the Advisory Council of Sri Lanka’s Interests (ACSLI) recently. Comprising a diverse panel of Sri Lankan and British experts from various fields, including Legal, Banking, Investment, Tourism & Hospitality, UK Polity, and Social and Cultural Engagement, the ACSLI convened its inaugural meeting to address key issues vital for fostering an investment-friendly environment in Sri Lanka. Discussions at the meeting centered on critical topics such as Taxation, Employment Laws, Banking services, the service sector’s expansion, and new regulations concerning the Colombo Port City, as well as initiatives to introduce a suitable Visa program for Foreign Investors and enhance air connectivity between Sri Lanka, the UK, and the Republic of Ireland.

High Commissioner Bogollagama, committed to leveraging his expertise and vision, aims to expedite the process of attracting essential investments into Sri Lanka. The outcomes and proposals generated during the ACSLI’s inaugural meeting will be presented to the Government of Sri Lanka for further consideration and subsequent action. With a focus on enhancing investment prospects and fostering economic growth, the ACSLI endeavors to play a pivotal role in shaping Sri Lanka’s future trajectory.
