Herath brings a wealth of experience with a bachelor’s degree in applied chemistry from the University of Kingston, London. He currently serves as an independent non-executive director of Central Finance Company PLC since February 16th, 2019. With a career spanning over 28 years in the fast-moving consumer goods industry in Sri Lanka, Herath began at Nestle Lanka Limited, where he spent 16 years in pivotal roles encompassing manufacturing, sales, marketing, and global business excellence projects. He subsequently served as an Executive Director of A. Baur & Co. (Pvt.) Ltd. for 8 years, playing a crucial role in establishing a consumer vertical for the company. In April 2020, he assumed the role of Chief Operating Officer of the Consumer Business at Sunshine Holdings PLC, focusing on expanding their consumer footprint through mergers & acquisitions. Herath also contributed significantly as a member of the Environmental Cell of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce from 1996 to 2001, participating in initiatives aimed at mitigating adverse environmental impacts from industrial activities.
