Sri Lanka’s economic climate is experiencing a positive shift, and LAUGFS Gas PLC is passing on the good news to consumers. Citing a combination of favorable factors, the company announced a significant reduction in the prices of its LAUGFS-branded domestic liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), effective as of yesterday.
Dr. Niroshan J Pieris, CEO of the LPG Cluster at LAUGFS Gas PLC, expressed gratitude for the government’s supportive policies. He credited the appreciating Sri Lankan Rupee against the US dollar, reduced interest rates, and ample foreign exchange availability for facilitating this price reduction. Dr. Pieris further acknowledged the positive economic environment fostered by President Ranil Wickremesinghe and his team.
LAUGFS Gas PLC, the sole private sector player in Sri Lanka’s LPG industry since the 2000 expiration of Shell Gas’s monopoly, announced a price reduction of Rs. 625 for their 12.5kg domestic LPG cylinder within the Colombo district. This decrease brings the new Maximum Retail Price (MRP) to Rs. 4,115. The price reduction will also be applicable to other cylinder sizes offered by the company.
