National Development Bank PLC (NDB) has teamed up with the Sri Lanka Inventors Commission (SLIC) for the Sahasak Nimavum Project, a national competition celebrating Sri Lankan inventors and innovators. This partnership underscores NDB’s dedication to supporting emerging inventors and advancing the nation’s future.
The Sahasak Nimavum Project invites students and adults from across Sri Lanka to showcase their innovative talents. Provincial-level selections, which began in July 2024, will continue through August, offering budding inventors a platform to gain recognition and support for their groundbreaking ideas.
As a strategic partner, NDB will conduct sessions during provincial events to advocate sound financial management, helping participants learn to manage their finances for future ventures. Additionally, NDB will promote its youth-focused ZEE account, aimed at fostering financial literacy and savings habits among young people.
Finalists advancing to the national competition will receive crucial support from SLIC, including patent facilitation to protect their inventions and enhance their prospects for future success.
SLIC, operating under the Ministry of Education, is key in promoting local innovation. It supports innovative culture among students through knowledge sharing, capacity building, and various forms of technical, legal, and marketing support.
NDB’s collaboration with SLIC for the Sahasak Nimavum Project highlights the bank’s commitment to nurturing the next generation of leaders and innovators, contributing to a brighter, more prosperous future for Sri Lanka.
