Sri Lanka Reduces Fuel Prices:
Sri Lanka reduced petrol prices by 21 rupees to 311 rupees per litre, and diesel by 24 rupees to 283 rupees per litre, effective from September 30. Sinopec lowered diesel to 280 rupees per litre, while super diesel dropped by 33 rupees and kerosene by 19 rupees to 319 and 183 rupees, respectively.

As of October 1, 2024, the price of 22-carat gold in Sri Lanka stands at Rs. 203,100 for 8 grams (1 pawn), while 1 gram of 22-carat gold is priced at Rs. 25,390. The price of 24-carat gold is Rs. 221,500 for 8 grams and Rs. 27,690 for 1 gram.
Sri Lankan Rupee Strengthens to 295.80 Against USD
The Sri Lankan rupee strengthened to 295.80/296.10 against the US dollar, with bond yields showing slight fluctuations. The All Share Price Index (ASPI) rose 0.03% to 11,858, and the S&P SL20 index increased 0.26%. Market turnover reached 107 million rupees. The central bank plans a 142.5 billion rupee Treasury bill auction.
