Omega Line Ltd, a key player in Sri Lanka’s apparel export industry and part of the Italy-based Calzedonia Group, was honored with the ‘Category Award Winner – Economic Contribution’ at the prestigious Best Corporate Citizen Sustainability Awards hosted by the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce. CEO and Managing Director Felix Fernando attributed this recognition to the dedication of Omega Line’s workforce, highlighting their role in driving the company’s success and significant contribution to the local economy. Last year, Omega Line, along with its parent company, Calzedonia, exported nearly 200 million garments from Sri Lanka and surpassed USD 600 million in turnover despite economic challenges, reflecting its robust performance and commitment to innovation.

Omega Line’s success story extends beyond its economic achievements, marking its 25th year of operation with notable milestones. From a modest beginning to becoming a major player in the industry, the company has expanded its presence globally, with over 5,500 sales outlets across 55 countries. This growth trajectory has earned Omega Line recognition in the intimate apparel market, underscoring its impact on industry development and market expansion. Additionally, Omega Line’s commitment to sustainability is evident through its initiatives to reduce carbon emissions, including powering its factory with solar energy and investing in renewable energy infrastructure.

Amidst accolades and milestones, 2024 stands out as a significant year for Omega Line, as it secured a spot on the exclusive list of ‘The 15 Best Workplaces in the Manufacturing and Production Industry in Sri Lanka’. This recognition not only underscores the company’s commitment to fostering a positive work environment but also reflects its dedication to excellence and employee welfare.
