People’s Bank Enhances Services for Migrant Workers on World Children’s Day

On October 1, 2024, People’s Bank marked World Children’s Day by relaunching its ‘Ethera Udana Minors’ Foreign Currency Account, now equipped with new features, at its headquarters. The event also saw the relaunch of the bank’s ‘Ethera Isura’ Personal Foreign Currency (PFC) account and People’s Remittance service.

During the ceremony, new logos were unveiled for the ‘Ethera Isura’, ‘Ethera Udana’, and People’s Remittance services. Additionally, ten account holders of ‘Ethera Udana’ were honored for their contributions.

People’s Bank Chairman, Sujeewa Rajapakse, emphasized the significance of World Children’s Day, stating, “This day highlights the importance of empowering today’s children through quality education and ensuring a safe and nurturing environment. For decades, People’s Bank has worked tirelessly to uplift the children of our nation.”

Clive Fonseka, Chief Executive Officer and General Manager, added, “Many Sri Lankans endure the challenges of working abroad, often spending years away from their families to secure a brighter future for themselves and their loved ones.”
