The Sri Lanka-Indonesia Business Council of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce successfully concluded a business promotion mission to Indonesia from 6 to 11 October 2024. The delegation comprised 14 business professionals from a variety of industries, including food and beverage, logistics, pharmaceuticals, apparel, travel, IT, and recreation.
During the mission, the delegation participated in key business forums and expos, such as the Indonesia-South and Central Asia (INASCA) Business Forum 2024, organized by Indonesia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs on 7 October 2024. The Council, in collaboration with the Sri Lankan Embassy in Jakarta, operated a booth at INASCA, which attracted significant attention from the business community.
The delegation also attended the 39th Trade Expo Indonesia, which showcased Indonesia’s growing economy. Productive discussions were held with the Chairperson and board members of the Indonesia Employers’ Association (APINDO) to explore avenues for strengthening trade and business relations between Sri Lanka and Indonesia. Additionally, a roundtable discussion with senior officials from the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN) helped lay the groundwork for further business collaboration.
The delegates toured the MM2100 Industrial Town in Cikarang, gaining insights into Indonesia’s industrial developments through an interactive session at the site.
A “Business Networking Session” was hosted by the Association of Sri Lankans Living in Indonesia (ASLI), in partnership with the Sri Lankan Embassy in Jakarta, providing a platform for networking between Sri Lankan entrepreneurs and the visiting delegates.
The mission was coordinated and facilitated by the Sri Lankan Embassy in Jakarta, alongside Indonesia’s Foreign Affairs Ministry and other key stakeholders, with the goal of enhancing bilateral trade and business ties between the two countries.
