Sri Lanka Launches ‘Naturalz’ to Diversify Exports in UAE

The Consulate General of Sri Lanka in Dubai and Northern Emirates has backed the brand launch of ‘Naturalz’, a new initiative by the NRS Group of Companies, which took place on November 5 at the Pullman Hotel, Deira, Dubai. This launch showcases a diverse range of high-quality Sri Lankan products, including fresh fruit pulps, spices, bottled fruits, condiments, and a unique range of ice creams made from Sri Lankan fruit pulp.

The Naturalz brand aims to expand the presence of Sri Lankan perishable items in the UAE, with offerings such as fresh fruits, vegetables, and king coconut, along with processed foods like jackfruit. The ice cream range is produced at a Sharjah-based facility powered 100% by solar energy, emphasizing sustainability and quality, with all items free from preservatives and additives.

During the event, Consul General Alexi Gunasekera highlighted the importance of value-added exports to diversify Sri Lanka’s trade beyond traditional exports. This approach, he noted, aligns with the country’s goal of strengthening the economic value chain and promoting sustainable growth. Gunasekera also encouraged Sri Lankan professionals in the UAE to explore similar ventures that could benefit both nations’ economies.

Event attendees sampled authentic Sri Lankan flavors, including king coconut juice, fruit-based desserts, and snacks made from processed jackfruit, presenting a taste of Sri Lanka’s potential for global markets.
