Sri Lanka’s rupee opened marginally unchanged on Wednesday, trading at 299.55/75 against the US dollar in the spot market, compared to Tuesday’s close of 299.60/65, currency dealers reported.
Government bond yields remained broadly stable across maturities, with minor shifts observed on select tenures. The yield on the bond maturing on December 15, 2026, inched up slightly to 8.85/95 percent from the previous 8.80/95 percent. The bond maturing on September 15, 2027, held steady at 9.45/55 percent.
Meanwhile, the bond maturing on March 15, 2028, was quoted at 8.85/95 percent, and the October 15, 2028, bond remained unchanged at 9.95/10.00 percent. The yield on the bond maturing on June 15, 2029, stood at 10.28/30 percent.
Slight upward movement was noted on the December 15, 2029, bond, which edged up to 10.37/42 percent from the previous 10.35/42 percent. The long-term bond maturing on March 15, 2031, was quoted at 10.85/95 percent, a marginal change from 10.86/93 percent.
