Sri Lanka rupee opens stronger at 297.10/20 to US dollar

The Sri Lankan rupee opened stronger against the US dollar, starting at 297.10/20 compared to the previous day’s close of 297.95/298.10, according to dealers.

Bond market indicators showed some fluctuations: a bond maturing on 15.12.2026 was quoted lower at 11.30/34 percent, down from 11.30/40 percent; while a bond maturing on 15.09.2027 was quoted down at 11.80/85 percent from 11.90/95 percent. Another bond maturing on 15.03.2028 was quoted at 12.10/15 percent, and a bond maturing on 15.12.2028 remained flat at 12.15/25 percent.

In the stock market, the Colombo Stock Exchange reported positive movements, with the All Share Price Index rising by 0.05 percent to 11,911, and the S&P SL20 increasing by 0.22 percent to 3,502.
