Sri Lanka Rupee Opens Weaker at 293.15/45 to US Dollar

Sri Lanka’s rupee opened weaker in the spot market on Thursday at 293.15/45 to the US dollar, compared to 293.10/30 on Wednesday. Meanwhile, bond yields remained stable, according to market dealers.

Bond Market Updates:

  • A bond maturing on 15.09.2027 was quoted at 9.75/82 percent.
  • A bond maturing on 15.02.2028 was quoted at 10.10/15 percent, slightly changing from 10.08/20 percent.
  • A bond maturing on 15.10.2028 was quoted at 10.32/38 percent, up from 10.10/30 percent.
  • A bond maturing on 15.09.2029 was quoted at 10.65/75 percent, rising from 10.60/70 percent.
  • A bond maturing on 15.05.2030 remained stable at 10.95/11.05 percent.

Equity Market Updates:

  • The All Share Price Index (ASPI) rose by 0.61 percent or 97.36 points to close at 16,041.
  • The more liquid S&P SL20 gained 0.64 percent or 31.29 points, closing at 4,893.
  • Market turnover stood at 467 million rupees.
