Sri Lanka-UAE Joint Venture Enhances Graphene Processing Capabilities, Boosts Industry Ties

Inovartic Investment Lanka Ltd., a new joint venture between Sri Lanka’s Apex Asia Holdings and UAE’s Inovartic Investment LLC, is set to advance the manufacturing of graphene and related products in Sri Lanka and Abu Dhabi. Supported by Abu Dhabi University (ADU) and in collaboration with the Sri Lanka Institute of Nanotechnology (SLINTEC), this partnership aims to drive significant technological advancements in graphene processing.

Daham Arangalla, Founder/Director of Inovartic Investment LLC and Inovartic Investment Lanka, highlighted the venture’s goal to establish a comprehensive ecosystem that promotes innovation and technological progress. “This consortium will foster global synergies and elevate Sri Lanka’s position in technological advancements,” Arangalla stated.

Saif Aldarmaki, Chairman and Co-Founder of Inovartic Investment Lanka, noted that the joint venture is poised to become a key player in advanced materials manufacturing, offering innovative solutions and substantial economic benefits to both Sri Lanka and the UAE.

Shawn Gajasinghe, Chairman of Apex Asia Ltd. and Co-Founder of Inovartic Investment Lanka, emphasized the initiative’s potential to drive advancements in research, training, and knowledge exchange, positioning Sri Lanka as a leader in regional technological innovation.

The venture will leverage local vein graphite resources to establish pre-processing facilities in Sri Lanka, enhancing local capabilities and supporting economic growth. Graphene, known for its applications in electronics, semiconductors, healthcare, and environmental conservation, will play a crucial role in this development.

The project is backed by the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development and the Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO), reflecting a strong commitment to the advancement of graphene technology in both regions.
