Sri Lankan ICT Innovators to Take Center Stage at Japan IT Week 2025

Ten cutting-edge tech companies set to elevate Sri Lanka’s digital footprint in Japan

Sri Lanka is stepping onto the global tech stage in a big way, as ten of its most dynamic ICT companies prepare to showcase their latest innovations at Japan IT Week (Spring) 2025—one of Asia’s most prestigious technology exhibitions. The event is scheduled to run from April 23 to 25, 2025, at the renowned Tokyo Big Sight in Japan.

These companies will exhibit under the Sri Lanka Pavilion, a platform made possible through the support of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in partnership with the Sri Lanka Export Development Board (EDB). This milestone event signifies the growing strength of Sri Lanka-Japan collaboration in the digital economy.

The participation forms part of a larger initiative launched in 2024, aimed at expanding Sri Lanka’s ICT and BPM presence in the Japanese market. Spearheaded by JICA and implemented by the EDB, the program supports around 30 Sri Lankan companies, including startups and SMEs. It offers bespoke business coaching, comprehensive market insights, and structured matchmaking with Japanese enterprises.

In advance of the main exhibition, the ten selected ICT companies will participate in exclusive B2B meetings and networking sessions on April 21 and 22, organized in collaboration with the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Japan and JICA consultants. These sessions are designed to foster direct connections between Sri Lankan firms and potential Japanese clients, while providing tailored technical support to fine-tune their market approach and presentation strategies.

Japan IT Week is not just another industry event—it’s a global hub for innovation and partnership. Known for attracting a wide range of stakeholders including tech developers, digital service providers, corporate buyers, and venture capitalists, the event offers Sri Lankan companies a high-impact platform to boost their visibility, credibility, and business prospects in a demanding international market.

Representing Sri Lanka at this year’s event are BoardPAC, Econsulate, IronOne, AI Labs, OREL IT, SenzMate, Softsora, Xeptagon, Zincat Technology, and Zone Twentyfourseven. Their participation is a testament to the island nation’s growing reputation as a source of high-quality, scalable ICT solutions. It also reflects the success of the EDB-JICA partnership in unlocking new global opportunities for Sri Lankan businesses.

This collaborative effort underscores the importance of strategic international partnerships in fostering sustainable development, digital growth, and bilateral ties that reach beyond borders.
