Sri Lankan Rupee Holds Steady at 300.30/60 Against US Dollar, Bond Yields Decline

On Thursday, the Sri Lankan rupee traded relatively flat at 300.30/60 against the US dollar, slightly changed from 300.30/80 the previous day, while bond yields showed a notable decline, according to market dealers.

A bond maturing on 15th December 2027 was quoted at 11.65/75 percent, while a bond maturing on 15th February 2028 dropped to 11.95/12.05 percent, down from 12.35/45 percent. Meanwhile, a bond maturing on 15th June 2029 was quoted at 12.15/20 percent, declining from 12.45/55 percent. A bond maturing on 15th May 2030 was quoted at 12.47/60 percent.

In the stock market, Colombo’s All Share Price Index (ASPI) edged up by 0.13 percent or 15.37 points to 11,675. However, the more liquid S&P SL20 Index opened down by 0.24 percent or 8.15 points at 3,375.

Market turnover reached 2.1 billion rupees.
