Sri Lankan Rupee Steady at 302.35/50 to USD;

On Thursday, the Sri Lankan rupee opened at 302.35/50 against the US dollar, showing little change from the previous day. The rupee had closed at 302.40/50 on Wednesday.

In the secondary market, treasury bond yields remained largely stable. Notable quotes include:

  • A bond maturing on December 15, 2026, at 10.50/70%, up from 10.50/65%.
  • A bond maturing on May 1, 2027, at 11.45/55%.
  • A bond maturing on February 15, 2028, at 12.05/15%, up from 12.00/15%.
  • A bond maturing on September 15, 2029, at 12.25/45%, up from 12.20/40%.
  • A bond maturing on October 15, 2030, at 12.73/80%, down from 12.70/85%.

In equities, Colombo’s All Share Price Index rose by 10.34 points to 11,416, while the S&P SL20 Index increased by 0.34% or 11.00 points to 3,276. Market turnover reached 9 million rupees.
