A high-level delegation from Türkiye’s prominent Penthol Group, led by Chairman Faruk Erkoc, is currently visiting Sri Lanka to explore investment opportunities in the island nation. This visit, which signals growing investor confidence in Sri Lanka, was initiated by Sri Lanka’s Ambassador to Türkiye and is being organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment, and Tourism to strengthen bilateral trade and investment ties.
During their visit, the delegation engaged in a series of productive meetings with senior Sri Lankan officials, including Energy Minister Kumara Jayakody and Environment Minister Dr. Dhammika Patabendi. They also held focused consultations with key figures such as the Chairman of the Board of Investment (BOI), the Chairman of the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC), and the Chairman of the Export Development Board (EDB). Additionally, the delegation visited the Colombo Port City to discuss potential collaboration.
The discussions highlighted several key sectors, including energy—particularly renewable energy—petroleum, boat building, shipping, and textiles. Both parties expressed interest in identifying collaborative investment opportunities and expanding trade relations between the two countries.
Penthol Group, headquartered in Istanbul, operates globally across regions such as the US, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. Chairman Faruk Erkoc was accompanied by Advisory Board Member and Honorary Consul of Sri Lanka in Istanbul Aydin Ozu, and former Turkish Ambassador to Sri Lanka Iskender Okyay.
