Airport & Aviation Services Sri Lanka Private Ltd has announced the awarding of a Rs. 852 million project to upgrade the departure baggage makeup facility at Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) to MSN Engineering (Pvt) Limited, a leading professional and ISO-certified baggage service provider in Sri Lanka. The project is part of the company’s ongoing efforts to enhance infrastructural facilities at BIA to accommodate the increasing passenger volume at the main gateway.
This project, aimed at enhancing the departure baggage handling capacity at BIA by approximately 45%, includes the construction of new buildings for capacity enhancement related to departing passengers, check-in, and satellite boarding gates. It falls under Package 2, involving the rearrangement, refurbishment, extension of departure baggage make-up carousel, and associated civil works at BIA.
MSN Engineering, with over 15 years of experience in the industry, has a track record of delivering engineering products, services, projects, and solutions to both private and state engineering companies. Eng. Athula Galketiya, Chairman of AASL, exchanged the agreement with an official from MSN Engineering, marking a significant step in the enhancement of BIA’s infrastructure to meet the growing demands of air travel.
