XpressJobs Partners with GEW 2024 as Official Recruitment Partner

XpressJobs has been announced as the Official Recruitment Partner for Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) 2024, taking place from 18 to 24 November.

This year’s GEW theme, “Entrepreneurship is for Everyone,” is set to inspire young entrepreneurs to start their own businesses, contribute to economic growth, and create sustainable solutions.

GEW is the world’s largest celebration of entrepreneurship, bringing together over 10 million participants, 40,000 activities, and 20,000 partners from more than 200 countries. The event serves as a global platform for entrepreneurs, educators, policy-makers, and innovators to inspire each other, exchange ideas, and take action on key entrepreneurial initiatives.

XpressJobs COO Dr. Oshadie Korale and Partner Tyner Fernando recently met with ICTA Associate Chief Digital Economy Officer Sachindra Samararatne and GEW Program Director Abith Latiff to discuss how this partnership will support the goals of GEW 2024. With over 200 events planned across Sri Lanka, the partnership aims to empower local talent and fuel economic growth by bridging the gap between emerging entrepreneurs and the critical recruitment resources they need.

Dr. Korale emphasized that XpressJobs’ role as the Official Recruitment Partner will indirectly support Sri Lanka’s entrepreneurial ecosystem by fostering new job opportunities created by these budding businesses. Through this collaboration, XpressJobs aims to help GEW participants access the talent and tools required to grow their businesses sustainably.

ICTA, the Information and Communication Technology Agency of Sri Lanka, is a key driver behind this initiative, advocating for digital transformation and innovation across the nation. Through strategic partnerships, ICTA enhances digital literacy, supports startups, and facilitates platforms that drive technological advancements, positioning technology as a catalyst for growth.

Abith Latiff, GEW Program Director, remarked, “We believe that entrepreneurship is fundamental to revitalizing our economy, and with the right support, young entrepreneurs can create sustainable job opportunities.” This partnership is poised to have a lasting impact by fostering innovation and providing the recruitment infrastructure needed to support Sri Lanka’s growing entrepreneurial landscape.
