Intex Sri Lanka 2024 Opens in Colombo with Global Textile and Machinery Expo

The 15th edition of “Intex Sri Lanka,” South Asia’s leading international textile sourcing platform, officially began at the Sirimavo Bandaranaike Memorial Exhibition Centre in Colombo on August 8, 2024. The event will run until August 9.

The opening ceremony featured notable guests, including Dr. Satyanjal Pandey, Deputy High Commissioner of the High Commission of India in Colombo; Kingsley Bernard, Chairman & Chief Executive Officer of the Export Development Board (EDB) of Sri Lanka; and Yohan Lawrence, Secretary General of the Joint Apparel Association Forum of Sri Lanka (JAAFSL).

The exhibition showcases dedicated country pavilions from China, India, Taiwan, Pakistan, Korea, and Japan, with over 12 countries represented, including Sri Lanka, Thailand, the Netherlands, Germany, Luxembourg, and the USA. Exhibitors are presenting a range of products such as natural and MMF fibers & yarns, textiles & fabrics, trims & accessories, dyes & chemicals, and software solutions across four halls at BMICH.

International buyer delegations from Russia, Mexico, India, and more than 20 other countries, including Bangladesh, China, Indonesia, Japan, Maldives, Myanmar, Qatar, Seychelles, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, UAE, UK, USA, and Vietnam, are participating in the event.

This year’s Intex Sri Lanka also marks the debut of InMac, an international garment machinery and technology show held alongside. InMac features the latest in machinery and technology, including printing, packaging, and automated systems, aimed at enhancing efficiencies and enabling Sri Lankan manufacturers and exporters to remain globally competitive.
