Sri Lanka Rupee Opens Flat at 290.60/80 to Dollar, Bond Yields Remain Steady

Sri Lanka’s rupee opened relatively stable on Monday at 290.60/80 to the US dollar, compared to Friday’s close of 290.65/75, currency dealers reported.

Bond yields also showed minimal movement during early trading:

  • A bond maturing on 15.12.2027 was quoted at 10.20/35 percent, up slightly from 10.20/30 percent.
  • A bond maturing on 15.02.2028 was quoted at 10.35/45 percent.
  • A bond maturing on 15.09.2029 remained stable at 10.70/85 percent.

In the equity market, the All Share Price Index (ASPI) rose by 0.08 percent, or 10.06 points, reaching 13,199. The S&P SL20, a more liquid index, edged up by 0.03 percent, or 1.17 points, to 3,906.

The day’s stock market turnover stood at 33 million rupees.
