Mediafactory Ranks 35th in APAC Top 100 Agencies

Mediafactory has secured 35th place among Asia-Pacific’s top 100 most effective agency offices in the 2025 Effie Global Index, marking a significant regional achievement for Sri Lanka’s advertising industry.

Mediafactory earns regional recognition in the 2025 Effie Global Index

The recognition places the Sri Lankan media agency alongside agency offices representing some of the region’s largest and most competitive advertising markets, highlighting the growing international profile of local marketing expertise.

The 2025 Effie Index, released by Effie Worldwide in June 2026, ranks the marketing industry’s most effective agencies, marketers and brands based on finalist and winner data from Effie Awards programmes conducted around the world.

The annual ranking has become an important benchmark for marketing effectiveness, building on Effie’s longstanding role in recognising campaigns that demonstrate measurable impact. Unlike rankings based primarily on agency size or revenue, the Effie Index focuses on effectiveness and recognises the work credited to individual agency offices through Effie-recognised campaigns.

For Mediafactory, the 35th-place ranking represents a notable milestone in a journey that began in 2005, when the company entered the Sri Lankan market as the country’s first specialised independent media agency.

Over more than two decades, the agency has developed its presence within Sri Lanka’s marketing communications industry while establishing a reputation for challenging conventional approaches to media and communications. Its latest international recognition provides a further indication of how work originating from the Sri Lankan market can gain visibility within a highly competitive regional industry.

The APAC ranking is particularly significant because the Asia-Pacific advertising landscape includes some of the world’s largest and most sophisticated markets. Agencies operating across countries such as Australia, Japan, India, Singapore and other major regional markets compete for recognition based on the effectiveness of their campaigns.

Being positioned 35th among the region’s top 100 agency offices therefore gives the achievement significance beyond a domestic industry award. It provides Mediafactory with a position within a broader regional measurement of marketing effectiveness.

Bradeepa Emmanuel, CEO of Mediafactory, described the recognition as a proud moment for the agency and said it reflected the vision behind its establishment more than two decades ago.

“When Mediafactory was established as Sri Lanka’s first dedicated media agency, we believed there was an opportunity to do things differently,” Emmanuel said, highlighting the company’s original ambition to develop a different approach to media and marketing.

He said the agency’s inclusion in the Effie Index demonstrated that work developed in Sri Lanka could compete alongside leading work from major advertising markets across Asia-Pacific.

The recognition also provides a reference point for the development of Sri Lanka’s marketing communications sector. Local agencies operate in a market considerably smaller than many of the economies represented in the APAC rankings, making international recognition an opportunity to demonstrate the capabilities available within the country’s creative and marketing ecosystem.

The Effie Index is particularly relevant in this context because its methodology is connected to campaign effectiveness rather than simply industry visibility. Its rankings draw on results from Effie Awards programmes worldwide, giving agencies recognition based on work that has demonstrated effectiveness according to the organisation’s award framework.

For clients, effectiveness has become an increasingly important consideration when evaluating media and marketing partners. Businesses are seeking agencies capable of translating advertising investments into measurable commercial, brand or behavioural outcomes. Regional recognition through an effectiveness-focused index can therefore strengthen an agency’s credentials when engaging with existing and prospective clients.

The achievement also comes at an important stage in Mediafactory’s development. Having entered the market in 2005 as a specialised independent agency, the company has now spent more than 20 years operating within an industry that has undergone substantial changes driven by digital media, data analytics, changing consumer behaviour and increasingly complex marketing channels.

Emmanuel said the ranking would serve not only as recognition of past work but also as motivation for the agency to continue improving its solutions for clients and build on the collective achievements of its team.

For Sri Lanka, the result offers a positive example of local professional services gaining recognition in an international competitive environment. The ranking demonstrates that agencies operating from the country can secure positions within regional industry benchmarks when their work meets the standards expected by global effectiveness programmes.

The 35th-place position in the APAC Top 100 agencies ranking consequently represents both a company milestone and a broader achievement for Sri Lanka’s marketing communications sector. As Mediafactory moves forward, the recognition provides a platform from which the agency can continue pursuing stronger regional visibility and developing campaigns designed to deliver measurable results.
