Hosted on 24 June 2026, the annual event brought together senior leadership, board members, business partners and distinguished guests to honour individuals and teams whose dedication and performance contributed to another successful year for Amana Takaful Insurance. Inspired by the excitement and unity of the FIFA World Cup, this year’s celebration embraced the theme “The Ultimate League of Champions,” transforming the awards ceremony into an immersive championship experience.
The event was attended by Chairman – General Insurance M. Zulficar Ghouse, Managing Director Hassan Kassim, CEOs S. Karthigun and Gehan Rajapakse, CEO and Managing Director of Amana Takaful Maldives Hareez Sulaiman, members of the Board of Directors, the leadership team of Amãna Bank, and several distinguished guests.
Designed around football’s biggest global stage, the evening featured stadium-inspired visual displays, cinematic presentations, football-themed entertainment and interactive storytelling that highlighted the values of teamwork, perseverance and excellence. A key highlight of the Amana Takaful Annual Awards 2025 was the presentation of more than 250 awards, making it the largest employee recognition programme in the company’s history. The awards honoured achievements across sales, leadership, operations and overall corporate performance, reflecting the organisation’s commitment to recognising excellence at every level.
Among the most prestigious accolades presented were the Champion of Champions Awards, MD’s Club, CEO’s Club, CEO’s & Operational Excellence Awards, Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT), Court of the Table (COT) recognitions, and several individual and team performance awards.
Representing Amana Takaful Insurance in the General Insurance division, Afzal Ibrahim received the coveted Champion of Champions title for 2025 after delivering an outstanding year of sales performance. Having joined the company in 2010, Ibrahim has consistently demonstrated dedication and professionalism throughout his career.
His achievements during 2025 included winning the Malaysia Tour Competition, being recognised as the Retail Promoter and securing the Sales Manager Category Award. These accomplishments ultimately earned him the company’s highest recognition, further strengthening his reputation as one of Amana Takaful’s leading sales professionals.
In the Life Insurance division, Somasuntharam Surenther was named Champion of Champions for 2025/2026, creating a significant milestone for the organisation. He became the first gentleman from Sales Business Unit 3 to receive the prestigious title while also making company history as the first advisor to qualify for the Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT) for two consecutive years, achieving the internationally recognised benchmark in both 2025 and 2026.
