HUTCH Kahawanu Udanaya celebrates retailer partners with over Rs 200 million in rewards nationwide
The event brought together HUTCH’s top-performing retailer partners from across Sri Lanka, recognizing their contribution to the company’s nationwide growth while highlighting the continued expansion of one of the country’s largest retail engagement programmes.
Since its launch in 2022, the initiative has grown significantly. What began with just 100 retailer partners and rewards worth Rs. 15 million in its inaugural season has expanded into a nationwide programme involving more than 10,000 retailer partners. By the conclusion of Season 4, cumulative rewards distributed through the programme had exceeded Rs. 200 million, demonstrating HUTCH’s long-term commitment to strengthening its retail network.
Season 4 featured some of the programme’s most valuable rewards to date. Twenty retailer partners achieved millionaire status, each receiving prizes worth Rs. 1 million or more for their outstanding performance. Among the top winners, one retailer received a cash prize of Rs. 2 million, while another earned eight gold coins. A separate winner was awarded four gold coins, adding to an impressive total of 447 gold coins distributed during the season.
The celebrations also included three premium motorbikes as grand prizes, including electric vehicle (EV) motorbikes, reflecting HUTCH’s effort to introduce attractive and modern incentives for its retailer community.
The programme continued to demonstrate its nationwide reach, with retailer partners representing every district in Sri Lanka participating in the rewards initiative. The broad participation underscores the critical role retailers play in connecting HUTCH services and innovations with customers across urban and rural communities alike.
Beyond rewarding performance, HUTCH Kahawanu Udanaya serves as a platform to recognize the dedication and commitment of thousands of retailer partners who contribute daily to the company’s market presence. HUTCH says the initiative reflects its ongoing investment in the retailer ecosystem, acknowledging the value these businesses create while strengthening relationships built on trust and long-term collaboration.
Commenting on the success of the programme, HUTCH Sri Lanka Chief Sales Officer Tharindu Wijerathne said retailer partners remain at the forefront of bringing the company’s innovations to customers across the country.
“Our retailer partners are at the forefront in the marketplace taking our innovations to the people all across the nation,” he said. “Kahawanu Udanaya is our way of recognizing our wide network of partnerships, and in turn reflects the trust our retailers place in us every day. Season 4 has been our biggest yet, and it is a reflection of how far this programme is driving community impact and shared success.”
The continued growth of the programme reflects the importance of the retailer partner programme within HUTCH’s broader sales strategy. By rewarding high-performing retailers and encouraging stronger engagement, the company aims to create sustainable value for both its business and its partners while improving customer reach across Sri Lanka.
For many participating retailers, the programme has become more than an annual competition. It provides recognition for consistent performance and creates opportunities for businesses of varying sizes to benefit from meaningful rewards. The inclusion of partners from every district further highlights the programme’s accessibility and its role in supporting local entrepreneurship throughout the country.
Looking ahead, HUTCH Sri Lanka confirmed that the fifth edition of Kahawanu Udanaya will be launched, ensuring the rewards programme continues to expand while providing further opportunities for retailer partners to benefit from attractive incentives. The company expects the next season to build on the momentum achieved over the past four years, reinforcing its commitment to supporting retailers and strengthening community connections nationwide.
With more than Rs. 200 million already distributed and participation continuing to grow, HUTCH Kahawanu Udanaya has established itself as one of Sri Lanka’s most significant retailer recognition programmes, reflecting the company’s long-term focus on partnership, innovation, and shared success.
