Mangala Perera has been appointed Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director of C.W. Mackie PLC following his promotion from the position of Group Chief Operating Officer and Executive Director, strengthening the company’s leadership as it continues its business growth strategy.

The appointment marks a significant milestone in Perera’s career, bringing decades of experience in marketing, branding, business development, and corporate management to the top leadership role at one of Sri Lanka’s established diversified business groups.
Prior to his promotion, Mangala Perera served as Group Chief Operating Officer and Executive Director, where he played a key role in overseeing the company’s operational performance and strategic initiatives. His elevation to Chief Executive Officer reflects the Board’s confidence in his leadership capabilities and extensive industry expertise.
A graduate of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, Perera holds a Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree in Marketing Management (Special). He has also completed a postgraduate diploma in Business and Financial Administration, further strengthening his academic and professional credentials in business leadership.
In addition, he is a Fellow of the Australian Sales and Marketing Association, recognising his contributions and expertise in sales and marketing management.
Throughout his professional career, Perera has built extensive experience across branding, marketing, business development, and general management. His international exposure includes serving as Asia Pacific Regional Business Development Manager for an Australian company, where he worked closely with several leading multinational corporations.
During this period, he collaborated with globally recognised companies including Kimberly-Clark, Sanitarium Health Foods, Golden Circle, Arnott’s Biscuits, and Eveready. His role involved engaging with international consumer brands while supporting regional business development initiatives across the Asia-Pacific market.
Beyond his corporate responsibilities, Perera has remained actively involved in advancing Sri Lanka’s marketing profession. Over the years, he has served on several national-level project committees, contributing to initiatives aimed at strengthening marketing standards, professional development, and industry collaboration within the country.
His experience across both international and local business environments is expected to support C.W. Mackie PLC as it continues to expand its operations while responding to changing market dynamics and customer expectations.
Alongside his new responsibilities as Chief Executive Officer, Perera continues to serve as Managing Director of Sunquick Lanka Ltd. He also holds directorships at Kelani Valley Canneries Ltd., Sunquick Lanka Properties Ltd., and Phoenix Industries Ltd., providing strategic oversight across several companies within the broader business portfolio.
The appointment further reinforces the group’s focus on experienced leadership and corporate governance as it pursues sustainable business growth across its diversified operations.
