A total of 104 students have successfully completed the Certificate Course in Financial Markets (CCFM) offered by the Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) Education Academy, a program designed to enhance financial literacy across Sri Lanka. The achievement reflects the growing interest in the country’s financial market and its future potential.
Speaking at the CCFM Awards Ceremony, CSE Education Academy Manager Tharaka Amarasena highlighted the increasing enthusiasm among Sri Lankans for financial education, noting the program’s role in equipping individuals with the skills to understand and navigate financial markets.
The trilingual course covers key topics such as investment fundamentals, stock selection strategies, and the analysis of financial statements. It aims to create a financially informed society where individuals are empowered to engage in investments, understand market trends, and contribute positively to the nation’s economic growth.
CSE CEO Rajeeva Bandaranaike emphasized the importance of financial literacy in shaping a robust economy. “Our mission is to create a financially savvy society—one where individuals can confidently engage in investments, understand market trends, and contribute positively to the nation’s economy,” he said.
Dhananath Fernando, CEO of the Advocata Institute, further underscored the value of financial knowledge, stating, “Financial literacy empowers individuals to make informed decisions, invest wisely, and build sustainable wealth.”
The CCFM course is designed to bridge the gap in financial education by providing individuals with essential knowledge of the financial markets. Whether students, investors, or anyone looking to boost their financial competency, this course serves as a solid foundation. Graduates are also eligible to enroll in the Advanced Diploma in Financial Markets (ADFM) program to further their expertise.
