SLT-MOBITEL, the National ICT Solutions Provider, has introduced its new ESG theme ‘Co-Connection,’ reaffirming its dedication to excellence in responsible initiatives aimed at reducing human impact on the environment and empowering communities through digitalization and streamlined operations.
The ‘Co-Connection’ theme underscores the crucial role businesses play in shaping a sustainable future and takes a holistic approach to ESG by fostering a harmonious co-existence between the organization’s operations, environment, and society. Under the banner of ‘Co-Connection for the Environment,’ SLT-MOBITEL focuses on reducing its ecological footprint, conserving energy and natural resources, and promoting sustainability, having already reduced greenhouse gas emissions by 18 million metric tonnes and managing over 300 metric tonnes of electronic waste.
In line with ‘Co-Connection for Society,’ the company strives to enhance community wellbeing by offering educational and health aid, supporting diversity and inclusion, and addressing poverty and inequality. During the pandemic, SLT-MOBITEL invested over Rs. 350 million to ensure connectivity and respond to community needs, while also supporting land regeneration for cultivation.
The ‘Co-Connection for Governance’ pillar emphasizes transparency, accountability, and integrity within the organization. By adopting the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) framework, SLT-MOBITEL aligns its social responsibility practices with global sustainability objectives, fostering a corporate culture that promotes responsible operations and stakeholder interactions while driving positive impacts on society and the environment.
