Com’ Bank of Ceylon Wins 6 Asian Business Awards

Commercial Bank of Ceylon achieved a notable success by winning six awards at the Asian Business and Finance (ABF) annual awards ceremony held in Singapore. The bank was honored in three distinct categories: ABF Retail Banking Awards, ABF Corporate and Investment Awards, and ABF Fintech Awards.

In the ABF Retail Banking Awards segment, Commercial Bank received accolades for “Digital Consumer Banking Initiative of the Year” and “SME Bank of the Year.” The “Digital Consumer Banking Initiative of the Year” was awarded to ComBank Digital, the bank’s flagship digital platform, which has seen significant growth with more than 10 new features introduced in 2023. The platform’s app downloads have more than doubled over two years, and its transaction volumes and values have increased significantly.

The “SME Bank of the Year” award highlighted Commercial Bank’s leading role as Sri Lanka’s largest lender to the SME sector. The bank’s extensive efforts to support and empower entrepreneurs, including facilitating their transition to digital platforms and international markets, were recognized.

In the ABF Corporate and Investment Awards segment, the bank won awards for “Corporate Client Initiative of the Year” and “Debt Deal of the Year.” The “Corporate Client Initiative of the Year” was awarded for the Treasury FX Portal, an innovative digital solution that modernizes and streamlines foreign exchange rate requests, replacing traditional manual processes with a real-time web interface.

In the ABF Fintech Awards segment, Commercial Bank was honored with the “Ecosystem Collaboration Award” and the “Payments Solution Award.”

These accolades underscore Commercial Bank of Ceylon’s versatility and leadership across various spheres of banking and finance.
