Thilak Piyadigama Appointed Chairman of WEBXPAY

Piyadigama is set to lead WEBXPAY into an era of digital payment innovation, focusing on improving financial inclusion and spurring economic growth throughout Sri Lanka. His career is distinguished by notable achievements in digital transformation within the banking sector, both locally and internationally.

During his tenure as CEO at SDB Bank, Piyadigama was instrumental in launching the UPay app, which transformed digital payments in Sri Lanka. At Nations Trust Bank, he played a key role in introducing FriMi, Sri Lanka’s first digital bank, and implementing open banking APIs, which set new benchmarks in the industry.

As Executive Chairman of WEBXPAY, Piyadigama aims to leverage his extensive experience to advance the company’s mission of providing seamless digital payment solutions. His vision includes expanding WEBXPAY’s market presence, improving customer experience, and fostering financial inclusion through innovative technologies.
