Sri Lanka’s rupee opened weaker at 300.90/301.30 against the US dollar on Thursday, according to dealers. The currency closed at 300.20/60 to the greenback the previous day.
In the bond market, yields remained stable. Notable bond quotes included:
- A bond maturing on December 15, 2026, was quoted at 11.00/15 percent.
- A bond maturing on December 15, 2027, was quoted at 11.89/12.00 percent.
- A bond maturing on July 1, 2028, was quoted at 12.50/60 percent, down from 12.70/80 percent.
- A bond maturing on June 15, 2029, remained stable at 12.85/95 percent.
In equities, the Colombo All Share Price Index opened 7.67 points higher at 11,489, while the S&P SL20 index of more liquid stocks rose by 0.07 percent or 2.45 points to 3,305. Market turnover reached 305 million rupees.
