Australia’s United Petroleum Pvt. Ltd. is set to begin operations in Sri Lanka on August 28 under the banner of United Petroleum Lanka. The company’s Operations Manager announced that the fuel ships have arrived and are in the process of unloading.
The company plans to kick off fuel distribution through 20 filling stations initially operating under the United Petroleum brand.
United Petroleum Lanka Pvt. Ltd. signed a contract with the Board of Investment of Sri Lanka (BOI) on June 4, 2024, as part of an agreement with the Power & Energy Ministry to supply petroleum products in Sri Lanka. The Power and Energy Ministry has granted the company permission to distribute fuel across 150 existing filling stations, with the potential to expand by establishing an additional 50 new stations, leveraging its extensive experience in Australia.
