Nawaloka Hospitals Partners with NITF to Enhance Healthcare for Agrahara Members

Nawaloka Hospitals PLC has strengthened its commitment to delivering exceptional patient-centric care by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Insurance Trust Fund (NITF). This partnership aims to provide substantial concessions to all government employees covered under the Agrahara Medical Insurance scheme.

The MoU was formalized during a recent ceremony attended by key representatives from both organizations, including Prof. Lal Chandrasena, Director/General Manager of Nawaloka Hospitals PLC, and Gamani N. Liyanarachchi, CEO of NITF. Notable attendees included NITF Chairperson Sagala Abhayawickrama and various senior officials from both institutions.

This strategic collaboration is set to offer significant healthcare benefits and improved access to Nawaloka Hospitals’ comprehensive services for all NITF Agrahara members. It marks a significant milestone in Nawaloka Hospitals’ ongoing efforts to build long-term partnerships that positively impact the community.

The agreement reinforces Nawaloka Hospitals’ reputation as a trusted healthcare provider, making quality medical care more accessible and affordable for public service employees. Prof. Lal Chandrasena emphasized that this partnership would allow state sector employees to access a wide range of medical facilities at substantial discounts, acknowledging their invaluable contributions to the nation.

Key benefits of the agreement include a cashless admission process for NITF members at Nawaloka Hospitals, eliminating the need for upfront payments. Agrahara members will have their admission fees waived, significantly alleviating the financial burden of medical care. They will also receive considerable discounts on room rates, outpatient (OP) and inpatient (IP) services, and various medical procedures, including laboratory tests, interventional radiology, heart diagnostics, and open bypass surgeries. Additionally, free ambulance services will be provided to NITF members, ensuring easy access to medical care.

The NITF Agrahara scheme is among Sri Lanka’s largest health insurance programs for state sector employees. As a government-sponsored initiative, it offers critical financial support for medical expenses, ensuring that public sector employees and their families can access essential healthcare services without facing significant out-of-pocket costs, thus safeguarding their well-being and financial security during medical emergencies.
