Barista, one of Sri Lanka’s top café chains, has launched its new “Happiness Hub” in Peliyagoda, a central facility dedicated to procurement, food preparation, storage, and distribution. This development marks a significant step for Barista in enhancing operational efficiency, product consistency, and supply chain management. The facility will serve all 41 of Barista’s cafés, helping optimize bulk purchasing and logistics while maintaining high-quality standards.
CEO Dilupa Pathirana highlighted the benefits of consolidating production, procurement, and distribution, ensuring a unified taste across all outlets. The strategically located hub near the highway also promises faster delivery and better inventory management. The Happiness Hub integrates sustainability initiatives and minimizes food waste through bulk preparation and ingredient optimization.
The facility also serves as a training center for future kitchen staff, preparing them for careers in food preparation and café management. With a growing team of coffee enthusiasts, Barista plans to expand both the facility and its café network, while continuing to uphold its commitment to sustainability and quality service.
