On Wednesday, the Sri Lankan rupee opened slightly stronger at 293.00/10 against the US dollar, improving from 293.30/60 the previous day. Bond yields continued their upward trend, according to market dealers.
Key bond yield updates include:
- A bond maturing on 15.12.2027 was quoted at 11.25/35%, up from 11.20/30%.
- A bond maturing on 15.03.2028 was quoted at 11.55/65%, rising from 11.50/65%.
- A bond maturing on 15.09.2029 was quoted at 11.80/12.00%, increasing from 11.75/90%.
In the equity market, Colombo’s All Share Price Index (ASPI) rose by 0.14%, or 16.73 points, reaching 12,274. The S&P SL20, which tracks more liquid stocks, also saw a slight gain of 0.25%, or 9.17 points, closing at 3,616. The market turnover for the day amounted to 91 million rupees.
