National Chamber hosts B2B talks to boost bilateral trade and investment

An Indian business delegation in Sri Lanka is participating in Business-to-Business (B2B) meetings hosted by the National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka in collaboration with the All India Chamber of Commerce & Industries (AICCI). The 31-member delegation is in Colombo to explore new opportunities for trade, investment, and joint ventures with local companies.

The program, themed “Creating B2B Opportunities for Export, Import, Trade and Investments”, was held at the National Chamber Auditorium in Colombo and provided a platform for Sri Lankan and Indian business leaders to engage in face-to-face discussions. Organizers said the initiative aims to strengthen bilateral ties by facilitating meaningful networking opportunities across a wide range of sectors.

The visiting delegation represents diverse industries including agro commodities such as salt, sugar, pulses, and spices, as well as construction and building materials covering industrial, residential, and pre-engineered projects. Other areas represented include packaging solutions such as FIBC, poly bags, and flex printing, renewable energy, hygiene and healthcare products, jewellery, oils, seafood, palmyra products, timber, and hardware.

Delegates also included representatives from the services sector covering shipping, logistics, freight forwarding, pharmaceuticals, educational institutions, hospitals, digital enablement, marketing services, and hospitality businesses such as restaurants and catering. This variety highlights the broad scope of business opportunities available for Sri Lankan enterprises.

The National Chamber of Commerce encouraged local businesses, including micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), to actively engage with the visiting delegation to establish new partnerships and long-term trade connections. Interested companies were invited to obtain detailed delegate profiles through the Chamber Secretariat.

Officials highlighted that initiatives such as the Indian business delegation in Sri Lanka not only strengthen commercial relations but also open pathways for innovation, investment, and cross-border collaboration that can drive growth in both economies.
