Bread price reduced

The All Ceylon Bakery Owners’ Association (ACBOA) has decided to cut the price of a 450-gram loaf of bread and other bakery items by Rs. 10, effective from midnight today.

ACBOA Chairman N.K. Jayawardana stated that the price reduction follows a request from Trade, Commerce, and Food Security Minister Nalin Fernando, who had urged the bakery owners to implement the change within two days. This directive came after a discussion with bakery owners on July 19 about lowering prices.

Jayawardana also encouraged association members to reduce prices on other bakery products as much as possible.
