Deputy Managing Director of CHEC Port City Colombo, Thulci Aluwihare, recently met with the Deputy High Commissioner of Sri Lanka in Southern India, Dr. D. Venkateshwaran, and Minister of Commerce of the Deputy High Commission, G. L. Gnanatheva, on December 15, 2023. The focus of their meeting was on the significance of attracting investments from Southern India for the Port City projects in Colombo.
During the discussion, Deputy Managing Director Thulci Aluwihare sought the Deputy High Commission’s assistance in facilitating communication with high-end investors from Southern India interested in investing in the Port City. He emphasized the importance of dispelling any misconceptions that may hinder potential investors’ interests and requested assistance in arranging meetings with prospective investors in Southern Indian States.
In response, the Deputy High Commissioner requested a presentation and background information on the legitimate standing of the Port City to be shared with prospective investors in Southern India. Both parties agreed to continue engaging with each other to attract high-profile South Indian investors to the Port City project.
This initiative reflects a concerted effort to forge partnerships and foster collaboration between Sri Lanka’s Port City project and potential investors from Southern India, aiming to drive mutual growth and development in the region.
