Cinnamon Air has announced the introduction of two daily scheduled flights connecting Kandy and Sigiriya with the South Coast destinations of Koggala and Hambantota, starting from November 1, 2024, until April 30, 2025. These flights aim to cater to the influx of foreign travelers seeking both cultural immersion and coastal relaxation.
Designed for speed and convenience, these flights cut down travel time between Sri Lanka’s key regions from 6 to 7 hours on the road to just 40-50 minutes in the air. Passengers will soar above the island’s breathtaking landscapes, offering a seamless way to journey from the ancient wonders of the Cultural Triangle or the misty peaks of the Central Hill Country to the palm-fringed beaches of the South.
Servicing the routes are Cinnamon Air’s fleet of Cessna 208 aircraft, including amphibious planes that promise a unique travel experience. For those boarding in Kandy, the journey starts with the dramatic take-off from water, adding an extra layer of adventure.
Cinnamon Air CEO Sean Dwight expressed excitement about the new routes, emphasizing the growing demand for swift, comfortable, and scenic journeys across the island’s most popular tourist destinations.
