Hemas and Hatch Slingshot 2.0 Accelerates Sri Lanka’s Startup Ecosystem

The Hemas “Slingshot” accelerator, powered by Hatch, successfully concluded its second cohort with an inspiring Demo Day, highlighting some of Sri Lanka’s most promising startups in EdTech, HealthTech, and FMCG.

Wheelchair House, a startup specializing in customized Enabling Equipment, emerged as the winner, while Exam Hub, a leading gamified education platform, secured the runner-up position. These startups, along with six other finalists, showcased exceptional innovation and scalability, earning recognition from industry leaders and investors.

Hemas Holdings PLC Chief Strategy and Growth Officer Rizny Faisal emphasized that Slingshot 2.0 reflects the company’s commitment to fostering innovation and entrepreneurship in Sri Lanka. Over the past six months, participating startups received strategic mentorship, industry insights, and hands-on learning opportunities to refine their business models and growth strategies.

The Demo Day brought together investors, corporate leaders, and key players in Sri Lanka’s startup ecosystem, providing a valuable platform for startups to showcase their progress and unlock new growth opportunities.
