The Lankan Angel Network (LAN) kicked off 2025 with a high-energy event at Monsoon, bringing together investors, entrepreneurs, and key ecosystem partners. Distinguished attendees included Western Province Governor Hanif Yusoof and Principal Presidential Adviser on Digital Economy Dr. Hans Wijayasuriya.
A keynote address by Governor Yusoof emphasized investing in passionate founders rather than just companies, reinforcing LAN’s mission to support visionary entrepreneurs. The event also marked a leadership transition, with PromoLanka Holdings CEO Adil Mansoor announced as the new Chairman of LAN’s Board, alongside a revamped Board of Directors.
LAN also unveiled plans for Fund II, following the successful deployment of Rs. 100 million into six start-ups through Fund I. This initiative aims to further strengthen Sri Lanka’s start-up ecosystem by providing more funding and mentorship opportunities. LAN CEO Dinali de Silva highlighted the critical role of angel investing in scaling promising businesses.
With over Rs. 2 billion invested in 50+ start-ups since 2012, LAN reaffirmed its commitment to supporting entrepreneurship and fostering innovation in Sri Lanka.
