The Cabinet of Ministers has approved the awarding of the IR and IS contract packages for the Central Highway Project to Maga Engineering Ltd. This decision follows recommendations from the Standing Procurement Committees, which recognized Maga Engineering Ltd. as the lowest responsive bidder.
The Central Highway Project, vital for enhancing Sri Lanka’s transport infrastructure, is divided into 19 construction packages under Part Three. While 17 packages have already been awarded, the remaining IR and IS packages were competitively bid among local firms. After a thorough evaluation, Maga Engineering Ltd. was selected. The proposal, presented by Transport and Highways Minister Bandula Gunawardena, received Cabinet approval.
