Colombo, Sri Lanka – NDB Investment Bank Ltd. has announced the appointment of Harshana Jayaweera as its Chief Executive Officer, effective February 2025.
Jayaweera brings over 25 years of global experience in corporate and investment banking, wealth management, trade and structured finance, and other financial services. His career includes leadership roles at prominent financial institutions in Switzerland, the Middle East, and Sri Lanka.
Prior to joining NDB Investment Bank, Jayaweera served as a Director at GRIP (DIFC) Ltd. in Dubai and played a key role with Alchemy Investments Acquisition Corp 1, a NASDAQ-listed special purpose acquisition company. He also served as Chief Business Officer at Acuity Partners Ltd. in Sri Lanka.
Earlier in his career, Jayaweera held positions such as Director of Investment Banking at ADSS Group in the UAE, Vice President at Credit Suisse AG in Zurich, and Country Head for the UAE at Bank ABC. He also has experience with BNP Paribas S.A., Emirates NBD, Nations Trust Bank PLC, and Sampath Bank PLC.
Jayaweera holds an MBA from the University of Leicester, UK, and has completed executive management programs at Stanford Graduate School of Business and National University of Singapore Business School. He is a Fellow Member of the Chartered Management Institute (UK) and holds certifications in various financial and technology-related fields.
