New Website Launched by Department of Muslim Religious and Cultural Affairs

The Department of Muslim Religious and Cultural Affairs recently launched its official website, www.muslimaffairs.gov.lk, aimed at providing comprehensive information to the public. Spearheaded by Minister of Buddhasasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs Vidura Wickremanayake, this initiative serves as a centralized platform for accessing details about the department’s functions and services. Through the website, individuals can easily navigate and gather information on various aspects of Muslim religious and cultural affairs, including mosques, Arabic colleges, Quranic madrasas, Ahadiyyah schools, and details pertaining to Hajj and Umrah.

Minister Vidura Wickremanayake led the launch event, which was attended by notable figures such as Digamadulla District Member of Parliament S.M.M. Musharraf, Chairman of the Haj Committee, members of the Wakf Board, and officers from Hindu and Christian departments, among others. The website’s development was made possible through the guidance and efforts of the Director of the Department of Muslim Religious and Cultural Affairs, Z.A. Faisal, along with support from Assistant Directors Ala Ahmed, N. Nilufar, and accountant S.L.M. Nibras.

With the new website, individuals can access a plethora of information, including visa details, Sri Lanka Wakf Board updates, Sri Lankan Wakf Tribunal information, and insights into the Haj Committee. Moreover, the platform serves as a gateway to accessing information about all departments falling under the Ministry of Buddhasasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs. By centralizing essential information and services, the Department of Muslim Religious and Cultural Affairs aims to enhance transparency, accessibility, and efficiency in catering to the needs of the Muslim community and the public at large.
