Rajarata University and CSE Launch Innovative Collaborative Diplomas

The Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) has announced a groundbreaking initiative in collaboration with Rajarata University of Sri Lanka (RUSL) and the CSE Education Academy: the introduction of the first-ever university and industry collaborative diplomas.

These pioneering programmes, recently unveiled, include the Diploma in Business Economics and the Diploma in Agripreneurship. This collaboration represents a significant advancement in offering innovative educational opportunities tailored to the aspirations of Sri Lanka’s future business leaders and agri-entrepreneurs.

The Diploma in Business Economics provides a thorough exploration of essential principles and practical applications needed to thrive in today’s business landscape. The curriculum encompasses business communication, business statistics, digital economics, economic issues and policies, the economics of money and financial institutions, business analytics and big data management, and international trade and payments.

The Diploma in Agripreneurship is tailored for individuals eager to transform the agricultural sector. Over the course of a year, participants will engage with topics such as entrepreneurial characteristics, agribusiness management, modern agricultural technology, international business operations, capitalising on agricultural investments, and industrial training.

The CSE Education Academy is dedicated to offering practical education that equips students with the skills necessary for professional success and contributes to Sri Lanka’s economic development.

CSE CEO Rajeeva Bandaranaike expressed his appreciation for the collaboration, thanking the vice-chancellor, deans, heads of departments, and coordinators at RUSL for their dedication. “Today marks a major milestone for both RUSL and CSE. This event highlights the successful partnership between a state university and the industry, aimed at preparing graduates to excel in the evolving business world.”

Vice-Chancellor Prof. Sanjeewani Ginigaddara noted, “With the increasing demand for jobs, there is a notable gap in the skills required to fill these positions. Our goal is to bridge this gap by equipping students with industry-relevant skills before they enter the workforce.”
